Finally Spring has arrived in Northern Illinois were I live.  I can smell lilacs thru the open screen door. Iris are bobbing their delicate petals on long stems in the wind.  It was a really long Winter here and the arrival of Spring flowers has been most welcomes.  My flower beds have been tended.  I thought all my beds were in good shape.   A walk around the yard this morning revealed WEEDS!  Yikes, were did they come from?  I weeded just the other day.  Pesky things are really tenacious.  Guess I did not get to the root!  Big sigh!  For a moment I lost sight of the beauty of the budding green leaves and the majesty of color and bloom.  All I could see was that pesky weed!

Sometimes our thoughts and beliefs systems are like the weeds in my flower beds.  You think you have explored and cleared a fear or limiting belief and all is well.  You relax and find the freedom to enjoy life.  Then all of a sudden that fear is back!  What happened?

Is it really the SAME fear or just a different version?  Did you recognize it sooner this time?  How it is serving you.  Can you look at it with a different perspective and gain even greater insights?

We are emotional beings.  Our fears can not hurt us.  They just hold us back or offer us insights.  Spiritual practices can help us keep our connection to our soul and life purpose fertile.  When the fears/weeds pop up we can easily address them.   When we tend our soul we can stay focused on the beauty and joy life has to offer even when there are weeds!

What spiritual practices to you have in place to stay focused on the good in your life?
